July Updates and News
- TJ’s will not be working on July 4. If weather conditions force us to miss work leading up to that date, that may change. If you are planning anything in the yard for that day, please let us know so we don’t interrupt if we do have to work.
- The statements this month are going out on time, and for the most part in advance of July 1. As a reminder, payments are due by the 15th of the month, and late fees start on the 20th. If you know you will be away and won’t have the payment to me by the 20th, let me know ahead of time. If you have a bill payment service, make sure they know of these due dates. If payment is not received by the end of the month, your account may be suspended and a deposit is required to restart service.
- I will try to again send out a mid-month statement. Enough people have asked for it, and many people want to pay more often than once a month.
- As always, my number one piece of advice I give out every year is to water your lawn during the dry, hot summer weather. All the (expensive) fertilizer and weed control in the world won’t matter if you turn your lawn into a dessert during July and August. Your lawn can survive the hot, dry periods, but only if you keep it watered. The most damage comes from the sun during the summer, and keeping the water flowing to the grass will help alleviate some of that damage. You don’t have to swamp your yard, a good 45 min soak 2 or 3 times a week will do wonders for the lawn. Having a developed root system through regular aeration will also help this along, so think about aeration this fall as well. As a reminder, the minimum charge of two cuts per month is in effect. If your yard is so dead and dry that you don't meet the minimum number of cuts, you will be charged for two cuts.
- I know it’s really early, but it’s not too soon to think snow clearing. I want to stay on top of things, and we will begin sign up in August for snow clearing for this winter. That sounds early, but I need to lock down my residential snow clearing customers early so I can respond to the commercial inquiries. My residential clearings come first. So look for the information in August, and try to respond ASAP if interested.
- IF you were not a Snow Clearing customer last season, and would like to sign up for snow clearing this season, contact me ASAP. We do residential snow clearing with snow blowers and shovels, not a plow. This works better for residences, this equipment is more suited than the often-damaging plow trucks. Driveways, sidewalks, porches, and salting are all included in the service. We offer a more complete snow clearing service than most companies for our residential customers, and I’ve had a lot of great feedback. Drop me a line or call if you’re interested. But do it EARLY, I plan to book up by late September, and once my schedule is full I will not be able take on any more customers.
- Finally, have a great 4th of July holiday, and thank you!
